Car Lock Out Leads to Felony Arrest

In Richmond Heights, Ohio there was a man this past week who did what many of the customers at Phila-Locksmith have done, locked himself out of the vehicle. The thirty-four year old, rather than call a locksmith, made a reasonable choice by calling his local police force for help. After all police officers can get into unlocked cars however in most areas it has become less likely they are willing to help due to liability. The man seemed lucky at the time because there was a police officer who was sent to the scene to open up the locked car.

The police officer was able to get the door unlocked but that was not necessarily good for the man who owner the vehicle. According to Sun News that was when the police officer noticed a suspicious odor coming from the car; upon inspection of the vehicle the officer who opened the car door for the man found, “37 separate packages of suspected marijuana, with a total weight of just over one ounce. There was also $426 in cash in the car”. The man was then arrested and charged with a fourth-degree felony.
